How Total Water Used is Estimated
Yardian Features
How is the total water used for each zone calculated?
The total water used for each zone is estimated using a combination of factors. Firstly, it is based on the sprinkler Application Rate (or Volumetric Flow Rate) specified in the Sprinkler Head settings. Additionally, the Zone Area and the actual watering time are taken into account. It’s important to set these zone parameters as accurately as possible to ensure a more precise water use estimation.
In the chart, you can use the “zone filter” icon to select any zone for display:
What if I have a flow sensor installed?
If you have a flow sensor installed, both the estimated and the measured water used will be displayed on the Total Water Used chart. This allows you to compare the estimated water use with the actual measured water use, providing you with valuable insights into your irrigation system’s performance.
By setting accurate zone parameters and utilizing a flow sensor if available, you can monitor your water usage and ensure efficient irrigation practices.
